Syston 7’S V KRFC 7’s

Only the Brave
With bank holiday weekend, DDP game & various other events going on it was only the brave that travelled to Syston for the Sevens tournament. As coaches we were very unsure whether to let this go ahead. As a group though our philosophy is if we have players that want to participate then we will do everything we can to support them and make it happen. We had just 10 players available which is the bare minimum required. The boys faced squads with up to 18 players so it was always going to be a hard day. We had 4 who had not played 7’s before.
Despite all of the this the boys worked really hard & gave it their all. The results got closer as the day went on. Out of 10 players 7 scored tries. We had a couple of injuries but the boys never gave up. I for one am hugely proud of them for making the effort to get there and give it their best shot. I will be giving these boys a huge pat on the back at presentation day & I am sure that the rest of the squad will do the same.
