There appears to be some confusion about the clubs fixture lists and the comparable opposition,I hope the explanation below shows how your fixtures are organised.
Northampton Saints - play at level 1
Bedford Blues - play at level 2
Ampthill - play at level 3
Leicester Lions - play at level 4
Newbold - play at level 5
Kettering 1st XV - play at level 6
Stewarts & Lloyds 1st XV - play at level 7
Rushden & Higham 1st XV - play at level 8
Wellingborough O.G.’s 1st XV - play at level 9
So the following applies:
Kettering 1 are level 6
Kettering 2 are level 8
Kettering 3 are level 10
Kettering 4 are level 12
Any team can play a team that are 1 level above or below so for example Kettering 3rd XV can play any team that are level 9, 10, or 11. With this process applied, this is how your fixture lists are created.
Therefore, on this basis our 2nd XV would play Casuals 1st XV, our 3rd XV would play Casuals 2nd XV and our 4th XV would play Casuals 3rd XV.
I hope this helps to explain and understand the fixture making, but if anyone would like more information or would like to discuss anything ‘fixture related’ feel free to contact me on 07957861221 or email me on firstname.lastname@example.org
One other point as Fixture Secretary, we cancel fixtures from the bottom, so if we only have enough players for three sides any week, we will put out sides 1, 2 and 3 and the 4th team game will be the one to go! This is how it works and how the RFU expects a club to operate!!
Thank you for taking the time to read this explanation!
